Greg Sarris is an author of essays, books, short stories, and plays. He is currently serving his twelfth term as chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, his tribe, which was formerly known as the Federated Coast Miwok, and holds the Graton Rancheria endowed chair in American Indian studies and creative writing at Sonoma State University.
